A few weeks ago I met up with a few ladies from all walks of social media to talk about jobs that fit our influencer lifestyle. From foods, makeup, fashion, and being women of color, we wanted to be able to have safe space to talk about our goals and what sort of brands we want to associate ourselves with and how to approach a corporate/capitalist world. Our world’s views are ever changing and we’re very social media centric, meaning our views, politics, and everyday life are on display. There’s line of professionalism and personalization we still want and need to present to our audience but brands as well. This really updated me on our culture of what today’s corporate world needs and how we can fill in the gap without compromising ourselves.

Meet in Place offers private and serviced meeting spaces at reasonable costs. They provide a setting that is both modern and professional and with complimentary water (still and sparkling) and C O F F E E, my girls and I felt welcomed and ready to talk about our goals. With each room having high-speed wifi and beautiful flat screen tvs, it made presentations a breeze without the extra work of plugging in wires and cables.

As a freelance make-up artist who hopes to create their own brand, these rooms are perfect for business meetings with clients and social networking events. This was my first time here and I’m excited to know there is a place that I can set up personal connections in a professional and aesthetically pleasing space rather than at your local Starbucks. I hope to hold my own networking event involving PoC makeup artists and models here one day *fingers crossed*.

Inverted Heart Freckles

Uncategorized

Hey y’all it’s your beauty guru comin’ atchu with a new beat.

Now while this may look like a lot (and it is) it was also A LOT of fun to do. You can wear this to parties, birthdays, a girls’ night out, brunch, your grandma’s 85th birthday….you get the gist.

I know a lot of makeup around this time include “smokey eyes” or simple “date night” makeup and those are really pretty as well. Do you boo boo, it’s about what makes you feel good and confident! Personally I might wear this look (sans wig) when I go to the museum this weekend. I mean I live in NY so I think people have seen crazier. So if you wish to rock this look this month….or at a kid’s birthday party just follow these steps!

Image from iOS1. Apply a base/foundation/concealer and set with powder
2. Stick heart shaped stickers across cheek.
3. Once you’re okay with the placement, start off using a cream blush as a base and pat product with a beauty blender.
4. Set with a pigmented pink powder blush.Don’t swipe, press the pigment onto cheeks with a blush brush.
5. To add definition, use a dark red or berry pigment and shade around the sticker with a pencil brush.
6. After taking off the stickers with tweezers, add white liner inside the heart to add a “bubble” effect.

Beastie Boys Crop Top: Forever 21
Black and gold chain: Forever 21
Denim Vest: DIY
Black Velvet flats: Lord and Taylor
Dhoti aka MC hammer pants aka harem pants: Indian place (sell saris and relgious items and langhas and other Indian stuff)
